Cheese Scones

An old favourite, these scones are great in lunch-boxes, or take on an impromptu picnic.

15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups self raising flour
  • 1 tsp Gregg's Ground Paprika
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup Shreddo Quality Shortening
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 300ml milk, approximately

Method

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Grease or line a baking tray.

Sift together the flour, Gregg's Paprika and salt. Stir in the SHREDDO Quality Shortening and ¾ cup of the cheese.

Mix in enough milk to make a soft but not sticky dough. Pat out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut into portions. Place on baking tray and brush tops with milk then sprinkle with the remaining cheese and more paprika if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
