Crisp Garlic & Herb Roasted Chicken

A delicious variation on a traditional roast chicken. The flavours of Gregg's Garlic and Herb Sea Salt will make this the family's favourite roast.

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Drizzle the chicken with oil and rub Gregg's Garlic & Herb Sea Salt all over. Insert one half of the lemon into the cavity and squeeze the other half over the chicken.

Roast the chicken for approximately 1 ½ to 1 ¾ hours, or until the skin is golden and crispy and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Serve immediately with mashed or baked potatoes and vegetables or why not try our delicious Kumara Gratin recipe.

Hints & Tips

Please use these cooking times as a guide only: whole birds require approximately 55 minutes per kg plus an additional 20 minutes extra at 180°C. If the oven is on fan-bake, whole birds require 40 minutes per kg and an additional 20 minutes extra at 180°C.
