Treat yourself with this recipe! Delicately seasoned
fillets of fish, with a spicy toasted sesame coating, are pan-fried
until crisp and golden. These are simple flavours at their
best.
Ingredients
Dressing
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice
- 1 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp Japanese soy sauce
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 Tbsp Gregg's Spicy Toasted Sesame Seasoning
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 500g firm white fish fillets, such as Snapper or Tarakihi
- 2 Tbsp oil
Method
To make the dressing: Place the mirin,
lime juice and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil
and simmer for two minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the
soy sauce. Set aside.
Combine the flour and Gregg's Spicy Toasted Sesame Seasoning on
a plate. Dip the fish in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip
in the egg, then in the flour mixture again. Heat the oil in
a frying pan over medium high heat. Add the fish fillets and cook
for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until the fish is golden and
just cooked through.
Serve fish drizzled with the dressing alongside rice, and an
Asian coleslaw or a green salad.
