Everyone's family favourite! This classic spaghetti bolognaise will bring the taste of Italy to your table. A perfect winter, mid week meal that will leave no one hungry. Delizioso!
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and Gregg's Crushed Garlic and cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until the onion is soft. Add the mince and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up any lumps, for 5 minutes or until the mince is browned.
Add the Gregg's Tomato Paste, wine, tomatoes, Gregg's Rubbed Oregano and Gregg's Bay Leaves. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for one hour or until the sauce thickens. Remove the bay leaves. Taste and season with Gregg's Natural Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn Grinder.
Serve over spaghetti and top with grated parmesan.
Try other minced meats such as chicken, pork or veal.
Substitute Gregg's Italian Herbs for Gregg's Rubbed Oregano.
For a richer herb flavour, add 1 teaspoon Gregg's Rubbed Rosemary and Gregg's Rubbed Sweet Basil and reduce the Gregg's Rubbed Oregano to 1 teaspoon.
Add 2 rashers chopped bacon or pancetta with the onion and garlic for a delicious smoky flavour.
Try the mixture as a tasty pie filling.
Bolognaise Sauce makes a great topping for baked potatoes.
Add a teaspoon of Gregg's Crushed Chilli for a hint of chilli.
