Knickerbocker Glory

Dessert

Knickerbocker Glory

This dessert is very easy for kids to make themselves. Make sure you start at least two hours before you need it so that the jelly has time to set.

Serves:
8
Preparation Time:
20 minutes
Refrigeration Time:
120 minutes

Ingredients

Method

Pour 1 cup of milk each into two separate bowls.

Sprinkle the Gregg's Choc-a-Lot with Choc Chips Instant Dessert Mix into one bowl and the Gregg's Strawberry Swirl Instant Dessert Mix into the other. Whisk until well combined and then refrigerate to set.

Mix the Gregg's Raspberry Jelly with 1/2 cup of boiling water and stir until jelly crystals have dissolved.  Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir, then refrigerate until set.

Assemble 8 parfait glasses and place a spoonful of jelly in the bottom. On top of this place a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and then some sliced banana. Cover with chocolate dessert and another layer of banana and then strawberry dessert.

Continue layering until the glasses are full ending up with vanilla ice cream on top.

Pop a flake into each dessert and serve at once.

Hints & Tips

Use canned drained peaches instead of bananas.

Shame I have to wait 2 hours for this to set, used to set in 10 minutes with Jelly Time. I think Gregg's has made a mistake in removing thid product. Of all the jelly types on the shelf, this was the only one that was out of stock on numerous occassions when I wished to buy. I don't believe it sold less than some of the other flavours. Blueberry? lemonade? Anyway, since Gregg's no longer makes jelly time, I have found many other brands of desserts and spices, coffees and sauces to buy now.

Thanks for your comment. The team at Gregg’s were also sad to see the deletion of the Jelly Time range, but unfortunately sales over the last few year have fallen off to a point where it’s no longer viable for us to continue producing it. The good news is we’ve got some delicious new Instant Dessert products launching over the next few months, which set in under 10 minutes & use cold milk, so perfect for kids to safely make on their own.

Would be real quick for the kids to make with Jelly Time jelly. Fast setting!! Oh yeah, that's right you don't make it any more. What a shame. Was so quick and safe for the kids to use, no boiling water. Gregg's are fools for deleting that fabulous one-of-a-kind product.
