Method

Preheat the oven to 200˚C.

Cook the macaroni following the directions on the packet. Drain and set aside.

Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour and cook over medium heat, stirring, until blended. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly. Continue stirring over medium heat until the sauce boils and thickens. Cook for a further minute then remove from the heat and stir in 1 cup of grated cheese. Season to taste with Gregg's Natural Sea Salt Grinder and Gregg's Black Peppercorn Grinder. Stir in the macaroni.

Pour the mixture into an oven proof dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, extra grated cheese and Gregg's Paprika.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the macaroni cheese is golden brown.

The sauce is how I do it except I don't add salt as there is a lot of salt in cheese. Fry large onion and green pepper, boil 3 eggs. When Macaroni is cooked (on stove-top) drain and add sauce, peppers, onions and cut eggs. Put into large dish and sprinkle grated cheese over top, add sliced tomatoes, a tsp of chives and a sprinkle of Greggs white pepper. Cook in oven until cheese is bubbly.

Just a Q..? Breadcrumbs in the ingredients but not in the recipe, or am I missing it? I cook chopped onion and bacon before adding the flour, tasty!

Great Recipe. I add 1/2 finely chopped onion and a pinch of mustard powder to the recipe, and sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese. The family love it!
