Spiced Fruit Salad

Subtle notes of ginger and cinnamon will spice up your next fruit salad and turn it into something special.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 - 2 tsp Gregg's Crushed Ginger
  • 1 tsp lemon rind, thinly cut
  • 1 tsp orange rind, thinly cut
  • 1 Gregg's Cinnamon Quill
  • 4 - 6 cups fresh fruit, cut into chunks e.g. pineapple, strawberries, melon, kiwifruit, mango

Method

Place all the ingredients except the fruit in a saucepan.

Bring to the boil stirring, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes or until the syrup is reduced to ½ - ¾ cup.

Remove the cinnamon quill and leave the syrup to cool.

Place the fruit in individual serving bowls.

Spoon over 1-2 Tablespoons of the syrup and serve with whipped or thickened cream if desired.
