Christmas Fruit Mince

How to Cook

  1. Place orange juice and rind, lemon juice and rind, mixed peel, brown sugar, currants, salt and Gregg's Mixed Spice in a large bowl.
  2. Using a food processor, lightly mince the remaining fruit and nuts in batches and add to the bowl.
  3. Pour over the brandy and mix well.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and leave overnight, then mix well again before packing into clean sterilised screw top jars.
  5. Refrigerate until ready to use.


  • 1 orange, juice & grated zest
  • 1 lemon, juice & grated zest
  • 150 g mixed peel
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 250 g currants
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Gregg's Ground Mixed Spice
  • 125 g blanched almonds
  • 150 g glace cherries
  • 100 g dried apricots
  • 75 g glace ginger
  • 500 g sultanas
  • 500 g raisins
  • 2 apples, peeled & cored
  • 1 ½ cups brandy
