Grilled American Steakhouse Steak with Cowboy Beans

How to Cook

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook bacon, stirring for 2 minutes. Stir in onion, garlic and 1 tablespoon Gregg's American Steakhouse seasoning for 2-3 minutes or until soft. Stir in tomatoes, beans and hickory sauce. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Uncover and simmer for 2-3 minutes until mixture thickens. Season.
  2. Meanwhile, combine oil and remaining Gregg's American Steakhouse seasoning in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Add steaks, turn to coat. Cook steaks for 3 to 4 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking.
  3. Serve Steaks with cowboy beans and green beans.


  • 3 rashers Shortcut bacon, chopped
  • 1 Red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp Gregg's American Steakhouse seasoning
  • 400 g can Crushed tomatoes
  • 400 g can Bean mix, rinsed and drained
  • 1 Tbsp Fountain Hickory sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 (150g) Sirloin steaks
  • Green beans to serve
