Potato Rosti

Originating from Switzerland Rösti is made with grated potatoes mixed together with eggs and seasonings, and then fried to create potato pancakes/patties. A great variation to try in place of regular potatoes.

How to Cook

  1. Grate the potatoes coarsely.
  2. Place in a cloth and squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can. Beat the eggs in a bowl, then stir in the potatoes and Gregg's Crushed Garlic. Season with Gregg's Sea Salt and Black Pepper.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium high heat.
  4. Add large spoonfuls of the mixture and flatten to a 5cm thick circle. Cook for 4 - 5 minutes on each side or until the rosti are golden brown and the potato is tender when pierced with a fork. Add extra oil to the pan if necessary.


  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp Gregg's Crushed Garlic
  • Gregg's Natural Sea Salt, freshly ground
  • Gregg's Whole Black Peppercorns, freshly ground
  • 1 Tbsp oil, approximately
